Ha Truong

Ha Truong started learning the piano at age 5 and graduated from the Academy of Music’s pre-college program as a student of Professor Tran Thu Ha. She had won numerous awards including the Grand Prix at the Concorsi Internazionali di Musica della Val Tidone (Edizione 2015), 1st Prize in the Concerto Competition at the American Fine Art Festival (AFAF), 2nd Prize in the Open Category at the International Music Competition organized by the Persatuan Chopin Society of Malaysia.

 

Ha has performed at the Carnegie Hall (New York), the Hanoi Opera House (Hanoi), and at other renowned halls around the world. She had been a solo pianist with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) and the Sun Symphony Orchestra (SSO) under the batons of Honna Tetsuji, Ngo Van Thanh, and Olivier Ochanine. Ha has played in masterclasses led by Leon Fleisher, John and Mina Perry, Dang Thai Son, Joseph Kalichstein, Boris Berman, Oxana Yablonskaya, Leonel Morales, Jean-Louis Haguenauer, and many others.

 

Ha is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University under the instruction of José Ramón Mendez. Besides attending school and performing, she co-founded and leads Rua Sen, a nonprofit project that fundraises for local causes by organizing events like concerts and secondhand markets as well as producing and promoting the use of environmentally conscious products.
