Luu Danh Khoi

Luu Danh Khoi grew up in a musical family and started taking piano lessons with his mother at the age of 8. In 2016, Khoi studied at the piano department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the teaching of Dr. Nguyen Trinh Huong. During his training there, Khoi was always an excellent student and was awarded the Toyota scholarship for young Vietnamese talents. Khoi participated in Masterclasses with well-known piano professors namely Dario Ntaca, Vasily Scherbakov, Jean Louis Haguenauer, Avo Kouyoumdjian, and Staffan Sandstrom. With such enthusiasm for piano, Khoi has achieved many domestic as well as international achievements: In 2016, Khoi received the 3rd prize at the 3rd Steinway Regional Competition. In 2019, Khoi won the 1st prize in a piano competition held by Korea’s International College of Art ICA and the Second Prize in the Chopin Competition held in Bangkok, Thailand. That same year, Khoi was chosen to perform with the Sun Symphony Orchestra in the series Educational Concert No. 3. In 2021, Khoi became a student at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, studying piano performance under the guidance of outstanding piano professors such as Max Levinson and Aleksandr Polyakov. During the most recent semester, Khoi won first prize in the Lee competition.
