Chi Vu started learning the piano at the age of 5. She studied at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School with Dr. Jonathan Bass and is currently studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Dr. Clara Yang. Chi has received prizes at the American Protege International Music Competition, Glory International Music Competiton, Great Composers Competition, Asia Pacific Arts Festival in Singapore, 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia, and the Diploma Certificate from the Australian Music Examinations Board. She has attended masterclasses with renowned artists, including Jean Dube, Konstantinos Papadakis, Gregg Pauley, Staffan Sandstrom, and the Balourdet Quartet. At NEC, she was a part of two chamber music groups which have performed in the Chamber Music Showcase in Jordan Hall. Chi also performed solo as part of the “NEC Composers: Piano Music by NEC Alumni and Faculty” concert series in Jordan Hall. In the past two summers, Chi attended Interlochen Arts Camp and InterHarmony Arts Festival.
