Tran Minh Chau

Minh Chau began learning the piano at age 4 and enrolled in the Vietnam National Academy of Music at age 9, where she was a student of Professor Tran Thu Ha for 6 years before she started studying music in Los Angeles in 2019. She was a student at the Colburn School of Music, where she received the Kohl Scholar Award Student for two continuous years and studied under the instruction of Professor Fabio Bidini and pianist Hye-jin Kim. She is currently studying at Oberlin College & Conservatory. She has participated in many competitions and has won prizes like the 2nd prize in the Euregio Piano Award in Germany, 1st prize in the Ricard Vines Piano Kids & Youth (Spain 2017), 1st prize in the Maria Herrero International Piano Competition, 1st prize in the Lansum International Music Festival California 2016, 1st prize in the 5th International Piano Competition Milan and 2nd prize in the 3rd International Piano Competition Hanoi in 2015. Chau has played solo in many concerts and award ceremonies in Vietnam and other countries, and she has performed with the Hanoi Chamber Orchestra, the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra in Vietnam, and the Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra in Uelzen, Germany. Since 2019, she has been performing in several Music Academy Young Artist Performances, Chamber Recitals, and Summer Seminars of the Colburn School.
